Spotify supports podcast timestamp sharing

Spotify announced on May 10th (local time) that a new podcast feature will be timestamped for sharing.

Until now, when you share a podcast on Spotify, the entire episode is shared and you haven’t been able to tell your friends to listen to it. However, if you specify a timestamp, the person who receives it can start listening at the specified location. It’s the same function as specifying and sharing timestamps on YouTube.

Spotify has been focusing on podcasts since before. Accordingly, in the fourth quarter of 2020, a quarter of active users, or 86 million, are using podcasts. In addition, at the end of April, it started a podcast subscription service in the United States.

Sharing a podcast with a timestamp can help increase your chances of listening to the podcast and help with your goal of increasing podcast users. In addition, Spotify has also changed the Canvas function, which allows you to set a short video loop for the song album art. Until now, the canvas could only be shared on Instagram stories, but the new Snapchat sharing was also supported. You can also preview how it will appear. Related information can be found here.

I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
