Google Play expands international remittance support

Google announced on May 11 (local time) that US Google Play users will be able to send money to Google Play users in India and Singapore.

International remittance is not done by Google itself, but cooperation with two companies, Wise and Western Union, which make international remittances. So far, only India and Singapore, but by the end of the year, remittances will be possible to more than 200 countries and regions through Western Union, and to 80 countries through Wise.

According to a recent Mastercard survey, 73% are sending money internationally to help their family or friends, and 38% are sending more money than a year ago. For this reason, support for international remittances through Google Play is also possible. In addition, a fee is usually charged when sending money, but Western Union is free until June 16, and Wise is said to be free of charge if you transfer up to $500.
