Google Photos introduces automatic flag feature on failed photos

Google Photos announced that it will stop uploading photos and videos for free and unlimited until May and apply a maximum capacity limit of 15GB. So, so far, I’ve just uploaded a failed photo, but now you may need to figure out what’s going on.

In anticipation of this demand, Google Photos makes it easy to organize your storage management options by flagging things you don’t need to leave in Google Photos, such as large videos, screenshots, and shaky or out-of-focus photos.

From information such as at what speed other users are saving photos and videos, it calculates how long there is room in storage. However, this free time calculation may not be calculated when using corporate accounts and family user storage. For reference, according to Google, even if more than 80% of users use it as it has been, they can afford it for about 3 years. If you write it down just in case, any photos or videos that were backed up with the high-quality option before June 1st will remain unused in your Google Account storage in the future. Therefore, if you have already uploaded photos or videos that exceed 15GBQ, there is no need to select and remove unnecessary data in a panic. It also notifies users who reach their storage limits by e-mail or the like.

Meanwhile, Google plans to rename its high-quality image backup service to Storage Saver in the future and release it soon. I don’t think the basic usage is different, but you can choose to use the same resolution or a different one for the image backup that Google Photos used so far. In addition, users who upload videos or photos after June and finally reach the 15GB limit have a paid Google One storage plan. Related information can be found here.
