Samsung Electronics added a 43-inch model M7 and a 24-inch model M5 to the Smart Monitor series, a display equipped with Tizen as an operating system.
The M7 supports UHD resolution and HDR10, and the M5 supports full HD resolution. The smart monitor series has shown 27-inch and 32-inch models so far, and both have built-in speakers and provide remote controls.
Not only can you connect to a PC and use it as a monitor, but you can also use applications such as Netflix through Tizen OS. In addition, it can be used as a PC screen by using the DeX function installed on the Galaxy series smartphones. For voice support, it supports Alexa and Google Assistant.
So far, the prices of the M7 and M5 have not been disclosed. For reference, the 32-inch smart monitor model is selling for $400 and the 27-inch model for $230. Samsung Electronics recently announced that it will continue to develop smart TVs equipped with Tizen OS, and then unveiled its first model. Related information can be found here.
