100,000 weeds per hour… AI autonomous agricultural robot

A big challenge when growing crops is the cost of weed control. Weeds should be removed because they have the potential to deprive crops of nutrients or increase pest risk, but chemical herbicides do not harm crops. Therefore, The Autonomous Weeder is a robot that pinpoints weeds by AI and irradiates carbon dioxide lasers to autonomously weed without damaging the soil and crops.

Weeds are a big problem in farms. Hiring people to spray weeds is expensive, but using chemical herbicides can damage crops and soil. In addition, the shortage of labor in the farmhouse is a challenge. Autonomous Wither is an autonomous robot that solves this problem.

The robot checks for weeds and irradiates a carbon dioxide laser with a pinpoint. The laser is irradiated from the underside of the car body. Autonomoswider is equipped with a camera that illuminates the front and rear of the vehicle body, and the status can be checked remotely. Twelve cameras are installed under the body, and an AI-equipped in-vehicle computer scans the ground to identify weeds.

Of course, it is possible to work day and night because it does not require human power. Autonomous sweeper can remove more than 100,000 weeds per hour, and the daily working range is about 61,000 to 81,000 m 2 . For reference, the area that humans can weed in a day is about 4,000 m 2 . Of course, whenever the first row work is finished, you can automatically turn from a safe place and head to the next line.

Autonomous Wither has been certified organic by the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) because it enables chemical-free weeding. The price of this robot is not disclosed, but it is said that it is possible to rent it. However, the 2021 model has already sold out and is taking pre-orders for 2022.
