Nvidia has announced Canvas for Windows 10, which can convert simple illustrations like graffiti into photorealistic, high-resolution images in real time.
Nvidia presents apps using its GPU and requires RTX series GPUs such as GeForce RTX, Quadro RTX, and Titan RTX as a support environment. This conversion is performed by AI processing that utilizes the processing power of GeForce RTX series GPUs. Canvas is already a beta app that you can download for free.
Canvas technology is based on GauGAN, an AI art tool released by NVIDIA Research in 2019. It is a tool that can automatically create grasslands, rocks, and clouds in a realistic way by learning AI using 5 million images in GauGAN and drawing simple lines or shapes on the canvas.

In addition, when you draw water, you can change the grassland or create a landscape with different seasonal images, taking into account the influence of elements on each other, such as nearby rocks and trees reflecting on the water surface.
At that time, GauGAN was released as a web app, but Canvas is an app. We are preparing 15 types of materials, including 9 styles that enhance the function itself and change the appearance of the picture, sky and mountains, rivers and stones. In addition, the created image can be saved as a PSD file for each layer and edited later in Photoshop.
Canvas also uses an AI called generative adversarial networks (GANs) made up of generators and disk reminators. Transforming the generator map into an image, the disk reminator works by splitting the roles, such as instructing the generator to create a reflection-like depiction of a pond or lake. Canvas was announced as part of Nvidia Studios, which provides hardware and software for creators. Related information can be found here.
