Samsung Electronics Unveils New UI Integrating WearOS

Samsung Electronics announced that it will unveil its next-generation smartwatch with Wear OS during MWC2021 at this summer’s Unpacked event. Not only that, it also explains in detail the One UI Watch, a new UI that is mounted here. Also, at the Google I/O held in May, WearOS announced that it would be integrated with Tizen led by Samsung Electronics.

The next smartwatch to be equipped with this Wear OS is highly likely to be tentatively named Galaxy Watch Active 4 (Galaxy Watch Active 4). The Galaxy Watch Active 4 is expected to be equipped with a new processor as well as detailed design changes. The new UI, One UI Watch, is being developed with the consistency of One UI being adopted in Samsung Electronics smartphones. For OneUI Watch, if you install the app on your smartphone, the app is automatically installed on the smartwatch and the settings are maintained. Conversely, for example, if you block someone on your smartwatch, the setting will be reflected on your smartphone as well.

In addition, a wealth of third-party apps unique to WearOS can be used as Samsung Electronics’ next smartwatch. It also provides an easy-to-use watchface design tool for developers. After the integration, the One UI Watch, which aims to make Wear OS more convenient and easier to use, is drawing attention to how it will respond to the Apple Watch, which dominates the market.
