Windows 11 changes from blue screen to black screen

Windows 11, which is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2021, takes various design changes than before. According to reports, the blue screen that appears when an error occurs is also changed to a black screen based on black in Windows 11.

When something goes wrong in Windows, only a blue background and an error message are displayed on the entire screen, which is a blue screen. If a blue screen is displayed, there is a high possibility that a big problem is occurring, such as a hardware failure or a serious process termination unexpectedly.

The blue screen from Windows 1.0 was not the original system crash screen, but a screen where a bug was displayed when displaying the kernel module and memory address when a Windows error occurred. Until Windows 3.1, it was a black screen when displaying error messages.

Afterwards, a blue screen was displayed when the operating system returned to an error process. Windows 9x series blue screen error codes and causes are also displayed. Windows XP Blue Screen is the most popular user advice.

However, in Windows 8.1 and later, the amount of information was much reduced 🙁 Emoticons and QR codes were displayed. Also, in the Windows 10 Insider Preview build, the test version, the blue screen was green, not blue.

Then it changed to a black screen in Windows 11. The screen composition, including emoticons and QR codes, has hardly changed, but the background is completely black. Of course, I don’t know why Microsoft changed the blue screen to a black screen. In any case, it’s clear that Microsoft is rebuilding the visuals from scratch, from the Windows 11 Start menu to Explorer to the blue screen. Related information can be found here.
