Bugatti + Limac to launch integrated company

On July 5 (local time), Volkswagen Group’s Porsche and Rimac will establish a new company called Bugatti-Rimac in the fourth quarter of this year and make a new start in the form of Rimac dominating Bugatti.

The newly established company will have its headquarters in Zagreb, Croatia, the headquarters of Limac, and its production base in Bugatti France, with a 55% investment ratio for Limac and 45% for Porsche. Bugatti shares are transferred from the Volkswagen Group, which owns Porsche and Bugatti, to Porsche and Limac. The number of Bugatti-Limac employees will be 430, with 300 at the headquarters and 130 at the factory. Porsche also currently owns a 24% stake in Limac.

According to reports, the new company will continue to produce the Bugatti Chiron, which produces 1,500 horsepower from an 8-liter W16 engine, and the Remac’s electric vehicle, the Nevera, which produces 1,940 horsepower and reaches a top speed of 415 km/h, respectively. These two hyper sports cars have been announced separately by their respective brands so far, and production will continue in the future.

Porsche CEO Oliver Blume emphasized that the combination of the strong expertise of the Bugatti hypersports car business and the tremendous innovation capabilities in the promising field of Limac electric mobility is the perfect match. The new company will be headed by Mate Rimac, founder of Rimac, as CEO. He said that the new start of the electric car company, which he started in his garage in 2009, is a very interesting bestiality.

Amid the global transition to electric vehicles, automobiles that have featured special, high-power engines such as Bugatti require a completely new field of technology. On the other hand, Bugatti’s heritage, craftsmanship and quality of detail are attractive even for a hyper-vehicle maker that is less than 11 years old. In this way, their combination may be the perfect combination. Related information can be found here.
