Google announced on July 7 (local time) that it will add a joining virtually option to the invitation function on Google Calendar within Google Workspace.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, telecommuting and online meetings have become commonplace. As vaccination progresses, you can gradually work in the office, but more and more companies will be adopting a hybrid work system in which everyone works from home instead of working from the office as before. In this case, it can be called a convenient function.
When you invite other participants to a meeting in Google Calendar, you can choose between yes, no, and undecided until now. But in the future, you’ll also see the choice to join in a meeting room or join online. However, this option does not appear on other platforms such as Microsoft Outlook and is initially only available in Google Calendar.
It will be deployed sequentially from July 8 for the immediate release domain organization for Google Workspace used by companies, etc. Related information can be found here.
