Instagram has started offering Security Checkup, a new feature to protect your accounts. This is a feature for people whose account may have been hacked, and a notification will be displayed when logging into the target account to confirm that a check will be performed.
In fact, if the account is hacked, the recovery process is cumbersome, but Security Checkup shows the user the procedures such as checking login activity, updating profile information, and updating account recovery contact information such as account verification phone number and email address sharing login information.

They can be useful in that they usually have something to check, not after being attacked, but ask for information just in case and don’t panic. In addition, according to the security checkup provision, Facebook’s WhatsApp will be added as a two-step verification method. It’s similar to traditional SMS authentication, but when you log in to your account, you enter a six-digit code that’s displayed through WhatsApp.
According to Instagram, over the past few months, malicious messages attempting to obtain passwords and other information to hijack accounts have been on the rise. These emails are used for things like posting photos that violate our policies on intellectual property, which could result in your account being frozen, being shared elsewhere, and so on, but it’s a scam.

Instead of sending a direct message to Instagram users, they will contact you if necessary through the Email tab on Instagram in the app’s settings menu. If you receive a message like the one above, we recommend that you report it to Instagram and block your account. Related information can be found here.
