Apple says do not use hydrogen peroxide to disinfect iPhones

Apple has updated its support document on how to clean its products and added a caution not to use hydrogen peroxide to disinfect products, including iPhones, iPads, Macs or Apple Watches, HomePods and AirPods. On the other hand, we are confirming that there is no problem in disinfecting with 75% ethyl alcohol.

Although there have been warnings about not using bleach before, this is the first mention of hydrogen peroxide. Other iPhones and iPads, iPods or Macs, and Macs, and other product categories write precautions for each product category, but what they have in common is that when disinfecting the product, do not let moisture enter the opening, do not soak in any detergent, and do not use sprays or aerosols. It has also been known before that when mopping, use a soft, lint-free cloth and not use abrasive cloths, towels, or paper towels.

As Corona 19 is still prevalent, it may be necessary to make a habit of sterilizing Apple products that are used regularly. However, since most of the common household disinfectants contain hydrogen peroxide, it would be good to check the ingredient label in advance. Related information can be found here.
