If you can’t stop your smartphone while walking…

The 3rd Eye is a product created by industrial designer Minwook Pang, who can’t stop his smartphone while walking for his degree in innovative design engineering at the Royal College of Art in London, to see what’s ahead. It takes the form of being physically attached to the forehead.

The eyelids are supposed to open when the Arduino-powered gyroscope detects that the user’s head is pointing downwards. It is said that it is equipped with an ultrasonic sensor instead of a camera and warns the user with a sound when an object is detected. When the warning sound sounds, users can raise their face and walk freely, avoiding obstacles.

Of course, it’s worth noting that it can detect walls, streets, pylons, and pedestrians, but not things like manholes with open covers. Related information can be found here.

Through the monthly AHC PC and HowPC magazine era, he has watched 'technology age' in online IT media such as ZDNet, electronic newspaper Internet manager, editor of Consumer Journal Ivers, TechHolic publisher, and editor of Venture Square. I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
