TikTok beats Facebook to become the world’s number 1 downloadable app

The most downloaded app in the world in 2019 was Facebook Messenger. A new survey found that TikTok, which ranked fourth in 2019, rose to number one in 2020. In addition, it is reported that the total playing time of TikTok in the US and UK exceeds that of YouTube.

As of 2019, the most downloaded apps in the world were Facebook Messenger, Facebook, WhatsApp, TikTok, and Instagram. However, in a new survey conducted by App Annie, which provides market data and analysis tools for apps, TikTok took the top spot in 2020, followed by Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger.
