AMD patch released to fix Windows 11 performance degradation on PCs

Not long ago, when Windows 11 was installed on a PC equipped with an AMD processor, it was reported that the original performance could not be achieved. There are many reports of this problem that AMD CPUs, especially Ryzen users, cannot expect optimal performance. The performance degradation is said to be 3-5% in general applications and up to 15% in some games.

Recently, Ryzen is very popular with e-sports gamers who require the highest performance, so the degradation of game performance is a big blow. AMD and Microsoft have prepared two patches to address these issues. One of the fixes is the AMD Chipset Driver Update v3.10.08.506, which addresses the system issue of selecting CPU cores used by applications. This problem had a symptom that Ryzen could not allocate tasks to the most high-performance cores in the UEFI CPPC2 (Collaborative Power and Performance Control) function that Ryzen was equipped with.

This update supports all AMD CPUs that support Windows 11, Ryzen 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000 series and even the latest Epic and Athlon. To address this issue, AMD and Microsoft are recommending that affected Windows 11 users apply the update immediately. Additionally, users who manually upgraded without meeting the Windows 11 requirements will have to manually install these updates.
