Blizzard introduces company-wide anti-bullying regulations, etc.

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has announced that there will be no compulsory arbitration in the future on employee and employee complaints about sexual harassment. In addition, a company-wide rule on the prohibition of harassment has been introduced, and employees who violate the rules must be fired immediately. If the employee is fired, any stock remuneration or other future compensation will be void.

Kotick said the company’s goal is to establish the most stringent anti-harassment and retaliation policy of any employer, and will continue to strengthen it.

He added that the company will take three-step measures to move to a safer and more diverse workplace. One is to invest $250 million over the next 10 years in opportunities to provide opportunities for communities with low social status in the tech and gaming arena. It will also increase the employment of women and non-gender identities to more than one-third of the total. Finally, it promised to carry out an annual report on progress on correcting the wage gap by gender.

Apart from these three items, CEO Kotick himself said that he would lower his annual salary to $62,500 until it is determined that the three goals have been met. In addition, these three actions are in response to three new hiring policies, abolition of mandatory arbitration, improved pay transparency, and a new hiring policy that the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing DFEH requested when a group of employees went on strike after conducting an internal gender discrimination investigation.

The employee group said the announcement is a good start, but there is still a lot of work to be done and will work to make it an industry standard. Related information can be found here.

I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
