Mercedes-Benz Level 3 autonomous driving function seen in video

When it comes to autonomous driving features, many people think that Tesla Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD) options are conceivable, but as Elon Musk admitted, so far, these features are Level 2, where the driver doesn’t even take their hands off the steering wheel. It provides only the free driving function.

This is also the case with other automakers. Of course, there are cars that implement level 3 functions if conditional. German Mercedes-Benz will soon launch the Drive Pilot, which realizes this in Germany, mounted on the high-grade S-Class EQS.

Drive Pilot provides a level 3 autonomous driving function that can only be used in congested conditions below 60 km/h. This may be a rare condition in rural areas, but in urban areas, it is a situation that occurs several times during commuting time.

However, even if you take your hand off the steering wheel and leave it to drive, you must not completely deviate from driving and do other work. Mercedes-Benz is responsible for everything that happens during Level 3 autonomous driving, but in the meantime, the system continues to check the status of the driver in the vehicle.

The drive pilot system still needs to pay attention to the conditions that cannot be covered by the autonomous driving function, that is, the driver needs to return to driving at any time depending on the weather, such as when the speed is 60 km/h or more, when an emergency vehicle approaches, or in the rain.

I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
