Can you overcome your arachnophobia with AR apps?

Phobys is an app for smartphones that a research team at the University of Basel in Switzerland has created in augmented reality for people with arachnophobia. The phobia can be overcome if you get used to it by force, but in augmented reality, you don’t need the trouble of catching spiders. It seems that the AR spider was devised to add a sense of intimacy, such as adding a heart. There are up to level 10.

It is currently in the clinical trial stage and its effectiveness is said to be recognized. Since it is already available for download, anyone who needs it can download it and use it. Related information can be found here.
