AMC Theaters, a major U.S. movie theater chain, has announced that it has started accepting payments for crypto assets, which it was previously reviewing.
According to Adam Aaron, CEO of AMC Theater, there are four cryptographic assets that can be used for payment: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin. Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal are also available as online payment services.
According to CEO Aaron, it is already being used for 14% of transactions. Of course, it is unclear whether the transaction referred to here includes payment for crypto assets or online payments such as Apple Pay. AMC Theater has been expanding its corresponding crypto asset since August 2021, when it announced that it would make Bitcoin available to purchase tickets or in-store items.
