Google held an event (A Space for Being) at the Milan Design Walk in April. Here, the smart band concept model was introduced. Here, we measured how biometric data changes when entering a room with different textures, colors, and designs. This is the smart band I used. Of course, the room also installed Google Home, a smart speaker.
In the video, you can check the details of the smart band. On the back, there is a sensor that can measure heart rate, and there is a light-emitting indicator on the surface. Body movements, heart rate, breathing, skin temperature and conductivity can be recorded for 5 minutes. After measurement, a round, white stone-like device is attached to the smart band to transmit the data.
In this project, Google Hardware Design Studio and ATAP, which develops technology, Reddymade, Arts + Mind Lab, and Muto Furniture Design, participated in this project.
It is not known whether this smart band will be sold. However, it seems that various applications such as customer response in the room or stress test in the office can be expected. Related information can be found here .
