Google “Expand the entire recycled material by 2022”

Google recently announced that it would use recycled parts for all its own products (Made By Google) by 2022. Accordingly, after 2022, all of these products will use recycled materials.

According to foreign media, the hardware included in Google’s portfolio so far includes the Pixel and Pixel Book, Google Home speaker, Nest, and accessories such as smartphone cases and charging stands. In addition to the use of recycled materials, Google will also implement carbon neutrality for its products shipped by 2020 for sustainable development in the hardware sector. Google said it has succeeded in reducing emissions by 40% by converting product transportation from aircraft to cargo. However, as freight transport takes longer than air, Google needs to accurately predict the production process.

Google has already started adopting recycled plastics for Chromecast devices, and recycled PET bottles are being used for Google Home speakers. While Apple announced that it would use recycled materials, it also built a robot that dismantles old hardware to make parts, and Samsung Electronics has announced that it will use sustainable materials in its product packages starting this year. As such, global companies are interested in sustainable use.

If you’re a US resident, you can also contribute to Google recycling. You can also participate in the recycling partnership program. Related information can be found here .
