Xiaomi predicts the era of 100 million pixel camera smartphones

Xiaomi, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, announced the release of a smartphone with a 100 million pixel camera.

According to Xiaomi, in collaboration with Samsung Electronics, it is planning to introduce a smartphone with a 100 million pixel sensor, which is precisely 108 million pixels. The output image file resolution is a huge size of 12,032×9,024.

According to Xiaomi, even when the image sensor and the 2x zoom camera are combined, a 27-megapixel high-resolution image can be output. In addition, the sensor itself is also the largest ever for a smartphone, so it is explained that it can improve shooting performance even in dark places.
