Polaroid Lab is a new instant product that Polaroid will introduce. It is a product that can extract hard copies of digital photos without wireless connection or setup with a smartphone. It uses a method of directly exposing the light projected on the smartphone screen to Polaroid Instant Film.
Until now, hundreds of photos may have been lost due to the loss or damage of the smartphone. Most of them blow up this data because they don’t back up their data or pay for a monthly service that syncs to the cloud.
Polaroid Lab can be said to be a product that simplifies the printing process itself instead of storing it in such a cloud, and tells you to just pull it out. Photos can be printed right away if the environment allows them to be placed on a desk with the smartphone screen down.
The appearance of this product reminds me of a Polaroid instant camera. But there is no such thing as an eyepiece or a front lens. In conjunction with the free app, you can adjust the aspect ratio to fit the square of the photo film, and the photos you print are smaller than those taken with a smartphone. For that reason, if you want to clearly reproduce the picture taken with a smartphone in 8×10, this product is difficult to be a solution. Polaroid Lab softens image quality and desaturates in the process of transferring to create traditional colors. Rather than vivid reproducibility, it focuses on saving the aesthetics of color that Polaroid film gives.
It costs $130 and costs $2 per sheet. Related information can be found here .
