YouTube to automate screening of channel certification programs

YouTube updates the channel certification criteria. Until now, the certification requirement, which had been known to be good to collect more than 100,000 followers, was abolished. The channel can be evaluated according to the reliability of the processing content and whether there is any difference compared to other channels.

This change has a similar direction to the change of standards for obtaining certification badges such as Twitter. In other words, the channel to get the certification badge shouldn’t seem to cause any confusion, for example. Specifically, it targets channels that require high credibility, such as brands, celebrities, entertainers, or true creators who can be spoofed, and channels that are widely known online and have a strong presence.

The updated authentication system will be operational from early October, and channels that meet new requirements will be updated automatically. On the other hand, channels that do not meet the criteria are notified. If it is, the authentication will be cancelled, so the producer should raise an objection if necessary.

YouTube also changes the way authenticated users are displayed. Until now, channel marks were displayed next to the channel name, but from now on, the text background color is light gray to distinguish it. This can indicate that YouTube has not approved it, and at the same time make verification the most difficult. Also, YouTube is not revealing how authentication automation works.

With this change, there is a possibility that the overall reliability of the YouTube channel will increase. It is a work that has nothing to do with the content of the channel that collects 100,000 followers. If you do not clear it, you may be able to get certified with a low quality channel. However, after this change, it is questioned whether it is a really popular and interesting channel or one with a characteristic.

Of course, according to this change, there may be channels where badges are discussed. For creators who have been faithfully and consistently active, this can be a big problem. Accordingly, creators may need to review content distribution strategies in the future. Related information can be found here .
