Coffee and Migraine Correlation

According to a new paper published in The American Journal of Medicine by a research team at Harvard University, people who drink less than three cups of caffeinated beverages a day, such as coffee, are less likely to develop migraine headaches than those who do not drink at all.

The research team asked migraines to keep a headache diary for 6 weeks. The patient took caffeine daily and recorded how often and when the migraine came. In addition to caffeine, he also recorded a life rhythm that could cause headaches such as stress, sleep, and alcohol. 98 people cooperated in this study for six weeks.

As a result, it was found that many people had fewer headaches on the day they drank one or two caffeine beverages a day than on the day they didn’t drink at all. However, there was also a result that the incidence of headache increased on the days of drinking more than 3 glasses. The research team says that it is an interesting discovery that people who suffer from headaches often think that caffeine should be avoided, while those who drink one or two caffeine drinks a day can lower the risk of headaches.

In fact, research on the foods you eat every day is difficult. It’s easy to forget what you ate and how much. This study recorded how many cups of caffeinated beverages were consumed, and not exactly how many liters. Therefore, the findings in this study may need to be supported by future studies.
