Only vibration? Strange wearable band

Doppel is a wearable band. If there is a difference from high-functional models such as fitness bands that are pouring out these days, the difference is that this product has only the vibration function, on the contrary.

At first glance, it looks like a wristwatch, but it’s hard to dream of displaying time, calculating walking distance, and using smartphone alarms. As stated earlier, the function is only vibration. Of course, vibration itself makes sense. According to Doppel, a rhythm and vibration that is slower than the heart inside the wrist has a calming effect. Conversely, a rhythm faster than the heart is said to result in increased concentration.

This study is not just a claim from the manufacturer. This reflects the results of the research team of the Department of Psychology at Royal Holloway College, University of London, who published their paper in the journal Nature. It is a function that at least a third party has admitted that it is likely to be effective.

This product also communicates with a smartphone only by vibration. If it is stable, you can register the vibration pattern in a smartphone-specific app based on the heart rate and switch the vibration pattern. Of course, you can switch the two vibration patterns to touch the body without using a smartphone.

This product was funded through Kickstarter, a crowdfunding site in 2015. Even after the campaign, it is said that improvements have been made steadily by accepting investors’ opinions. The price is $219. Related information can be found here .
