Retro electric scooter from an Indian company

The B3 is an electric scooter with a retro design from Blacksmith Electric, an Indian electric motorcycle manufacturer.

At first glance, you can think of the classic Vespa scooter. However, the onboard motor has a rated output of 5kW, so 6.8 horsepower, and the maximum output is 14.5kW and 19.7 horsepower. Among the Vestar models, it exceeds the 200cc engine, which is high. It does not emit exhaust gas, but also features an electric powertrain such as 90NM maximum torque. This is the equivalent of a 1 liter naturally aspirated engine.

The battery is equipped with NMC, that is, a ternary lithium-ion battery. The capacity is not clear, but it is said that it can run 120km with a 4 hour charge. Of course, it did not announce the distance that can be achieved by running at several kilometers per hour. Depending on the region, it may be possible to run long distances using a battery replacement station.

The maximum speed can be adjusted to 60, 80, 100, 120 km/h according to national regulations, and the electronic control limiter setting can be changed. The maximum loading weight is 200 kg. If you are a big person, you can ride two people. When riding alone, the maximum slope angle of 25 degrees can be climbed.

This product connects a smartphone to Bluetooth so that various settings and checks can be made with an app. Of course, the anti-theft GPS is installed. It is said to have a sensor that detects vehicles approaching while driving, and a patent-pending system that informs riders of an approaching danger.

The B3 is expected to launch in 2020 and pricing has yet to be announced. Related information can be found here .
