Twitter supports high-resolution images

Twitter supports uploading high-resolution images. From December 11th (local time), the process of uploading images to Twitter has been changed. Until now, JPEG images have been transcoded and compressed, but the encoded JPEG image will be saved as it is in future posts. The sample image uploaded by Twitter engineers is said to have been compressed to 97% quality than the original through Google Encoder (Guetzli).

Of course, it doesn’t mean that you can upload anything in high definition. Things that require screen rotation, one side exceeding 4,049 pixels, file size exceeding 5MB, or inefficient compression conditions of 1 byte 1 pixel or more are uploaded compressed as before, not high quality.

The preview also comes out as a compressed image. Also, EXIF data is deleted as before. This high-definition upload support is only available for the Twitter web version.

I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
