The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the FBI, has developed a defense program called Illicit Data Loss Exploitation (IDLE) to lower the risk of data theft, and has begun offering companies.
The program includes a number of features, including proactive warning to targeted companies and providing tools to detect unauthorized access, and can read internal data. The details of the program were not disclosed due to management issues, but in simple terms, it is a method of mixing fake data and making it difficult to interpret. The mixed data is disguised as genuine and cannot be easily screened. Since data screening requires effort and time, it can reduce the risk of data theft from hackers.
Some companies have already partnered with the FBI to implement this program. According to the FBI, it will continue to provide support for corporate cybercrime countermeasures. Related information can be found here .
