Overseas, electric scooters are gaining popularity. Of course, you can buy an electric scooter yourself, but you can also use shared scooters like Uber’s Jump, Bird, or Lime. These services can be used anywhere, immediately after payment and unlocking using the app.
Spin, a company affiliated with automaker Ford, is planning to expand its business in the United States with a new electric scooter. Spin is a San Francisco-based startup that Ford acquired last year. Prior to the acquisition, Spin had rented electric scooters from nine cities and five university campuses, but now it has expanded the number to 47 cities.
Spin’s new electric scooter features a large frame and platform to enhance stability. The tire was also enlarged to 10 inches. Thanks to this, it has been improved so that the riding comfort does not deteriorate even on bad roads. In addition, while increasing the motor output and range, security technology and vandalism prevention technology were added.
Spin is set to introduce 15,000 new electric scooters in eight cities in the United States starting in August. In the electric scooter sharing business, there are many competitors, such as Jump, Bird, and Lime, as mentioned earlier. Starting from the launch of this new electric scooter, attention is focused on how the automation manufacturer subsidiary will bet and grow. Related information can be found here .
