The Dash Cam Tandem is a dual-lens black box that can record both the front and the inside of the vehicle, announced by Garmin. Since this product records not only the front and rear roads, but also the inside of the vehicle, it allows the general public to become a taxi driver like Uber and Grab.
The camera uses a 180-degree field of view lens to see what’s happening outside the vehicle with a wide field of view. However, while the front camera uses a feature called Garmin Clarity HDR, the resolution is 1440p, while the rear camera uses an infrared frequency to record in dark places, instead of using Garmin NighGlo, a night function that can record the resolution. It’s not as good as the front.
This product starts recording on the microSD card when the power is turned on, but you need to press the video button or make a voice request to continue saving data. However, the motion sensor detects the abnormality and starts recording, such as when there is nobody inside the vehicle, such as vibration or theft. Since GPS coordinates are attached to the video as a tag, even if you are caught in an incident, you can determine the exact time and place.
With this product, you can transfer video files by simply removing the microSD card and inserting it into your PC, as well as syncing with the Garmin Drive app via Bluetooth and saving it to your mobile device. The sharing process can be simplified, such as being able to check videos on a smartphone.
The body is used by attaching it to the windshield or hanging under the rearview mirror. Power uses a vehicle USB port or socket. The price is $300. Related information can be found here .
