Mercedes-Benz AVTR (advance vision transportation) is a concept car that Mercedes-Benz introduced during CES 2020 with a movie avatar as a motif.
The AVTR is an electric vehicle that can move back and forth or diagonally. Lights flow out like digital nerve cells through the front display that extends beyond the dashboard, and the transparent left and right doors convey the meaning of promoting harmony between the driver and the surrounding natural environment.
Vehicles are equipped with biometric sensors, which operate autonomously according to the movement of the hand covered by the control unit by the driver, and there is no steering wheel. The driver is integrated with the car and controls it. This idea of communicating with cars is also based on the world view drawn by the avatar.
As for the method of communicating with the intotainment system, if you raise your hand while driving, you can project menu items on the driver’s body and manipulate them according to hand movements. It includes a number of gesture control methods, so it can be handled without having to learn new manipulation methods.
Externally, it has 33 circular hatches in the rear hatch. Named the Superman flap, this hatch is intended to be used for communication between the driver and the outside world.
This concept car deals with the big theme of sustainability. To meet the goal of producing a zero-impact car with no environmental load, it is composed of materials with low environmental load, and the battery is graphene-based and does not contain rare earths and metals at all. The material can be recycled for compost. Related information can be found here .
