Sensitivity control with the app… Smart band-aid to help treat premature ejaculation?

People who have problems with their sex life exist all over the world. Various devices are being developed for them as treatments such as Viagra for women and smart underwear that helps with stamina and erection. However, this time, a band-aid that can control premature ejaculation was developed and the prototype was released.

The product, which is being developed by Morari Medical, showed a prototype during CES 2020 held in Las Vegas, USA in early January. There is no product name as it is still under development.

In this product, the electrodes connected to the battery give weak electrical stimulation. This form is also used for products that relieve muscle pain, but this product is attached to the male perineum to confuse the nervous system and is intended to delay ejaculation during sexual activity. It is known that 30% of premature ejaculation symptoms are present, but the cause is not completely known. Until now, various treatment methods from behavioral therapy to anesthesia and medication are used.

This band-aid is for men and can be turned on or off and sensitivity can be adjusted through a smartphone app or Fitbit. Because the perineum transmits ejaculation signals to the brain, it is a place where the nervous system gathers, and it sends electrical energy to it, which can confuse nerves and reduce sensitivity. This product has been tested on 5 men suffering from premature ejaculation, and some have positive opinions, but the effect can be said to be subjective.

The developer plans to bring the product to market in mid-2021. Considering hygiene, it will be disposable, and the price is expected to be around $25 each. Related information can be found here .
