Microsoft develops automatic detection tool for child sex offenders

Project Artemis is a system created by Microsoft that automatically detects sex offenders targeting children online.

Project Artemis assesses whether a chat participant is likely to be a pedophile based on a word, tone, or pattern. When a score is set and a certain score is exceeded, the flagged conversation is sent to the moderator for review. When the operator determines that it is dangerous, it reports to law enforcement agencies. In addition, through cooperation with child protection experts, it is said that it is possible to find out what kind of activities pedophiles are doing online. It is not known which words or speech are recognized as pedophilia, so the details are unknown.

Microsoft is said to have been using this technology for years on Xbox and Skype. In the future, it will be provided free of charge to companies that operate an online chat function through Thorn, a technology development nonprofit to protect children from pedophilia. I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
