According to Gartner, global smartphone sales in the first quarter of 2019 were 375 million units. However, in the first quarter of 2020, it recorded less than 300 million units, that is, 29,931 million units. It was reduced by 20%.
Samsung Electronics, the number one, recorded 18.5% of 53.33 million units from 19.1% of the 71.62 million units in the first quarter of 2019. Huawei, the second place, also fell to 42.4 million units and 14.2% from 58.38 million units, 15.6%. Apple, which ranked third, decreased by 8.2% from 44.62 million units to 44.92 million units, with a relatively small decline, increasing its market share from 11.9% to 13.7%. Xiaomi, ranked fourth, increased its sales volume from 27.42 million units to 28.81 million units, and its market share also increased by 2% from 7.3% to 9.3%.
Huawei, which showed the worst in the decline in the number of sales at 27.3%, can be said to have been excluded from the Google ecosystem in addition to the impact of Corona 19, which led to a decrease in global market competitiveness.
