Microsoft has released an umdate patch to remove Adobe Flash Player from Windows.
Microsoft announced in September that it will provide a patch to remove Flash, which announced the end of Adobe support by the end of the year. This patch (Update for the removal of Adobe Flash Player: October 27, 2020 KB4577586) removes the Flash Player (32-bit) displayed in the Windows Control Panel. A security update integrated from the beginning in Windows 10 is included in Windows. It is provided through an update.
Microsoft says the patch’s role is to enable customers to test and validate their environment for the possible impact of removing Adobe Flash Player. In the future, it will be available through WSUS and Windows Update.
However, as a result of applying and reviewing this patch, it is said that the Flash player component that was individually introduced as a web browser plug-in remains and works if it is active. The standalone version of Flash Player is also not removed by the update.
Also, if this patch is applied, the patch cannot be removed. To cancel, use the Windows restore point function or reinstall the operating system. In addition, Microsoft explained in detail at the time of its September announcement regarding the specific response to the end of Flash support in Internet Explorer and Edge browsers.
