Printing a letterpress with a 3D printer?

Zine Machine is a device that prints a letterpress printer with a 3D printer. This device was exhibited during the Printed Matter’s Virtual Art Book Fair (PMVABF), an online art fair that introduces books containing contemporary art or rare out-of-print books, and is open to the public domain along with data for 3D printers.

To make a Gin machine, you first need to print parts using Gin machine data published on GitHub. While assembling the body part, insert a block that prints characters. To print using a Gin machine, first put paper in the frame of the body, then apply ink to the rollers, close the body well, and press to finish printing.

The Jin machine can also create and print custom plates for printing images as well as text. With software that can process 3D graphics such as Adobe Illustrator, you can take pictures by making the white part 0mm and the black part 3mm thick.

Gestalte Design, a publishing company that announced this product, made a gin machine with a 3D printer called Prusa MK3S +. The distributed data is also optimized for this product, but it is said that a 3D printer with a certain precision and performance that does not cause deformation such as frame parts will be able to print it without problems.
