E3 2021 to be held online for free

E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo), the world’s largest game exhibition, announced that it will be held for four days from June 12-15, 2021. E3 was discontinued in 2020 due to the impact of Corona 19, but will be held in the form of an online event in which numerous partner companies participate in 2021.

E3 2020, which was scheduled to be held in 2020, has been canceled by partner companies as concerns over the corona 19 epidemic have increased. Eventually, E3 2020 itself led to a halt. Even in 2021, as Corona 19 still raged around the world, there were reports that the E3 2021 will also cease to hold local events.

E3’s official Twitter account officially announced the holding of E3 2021, with a message that it will officially announce the schedule to be held on June 12-15. The entire E3 2021 is held as an online virtual event and anyone can participate for free.

In addition, Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, UBI Soft, Take2 Interactive, Warner Game, and Koch Media were announced as partner companies. However, EA, Sony, Square Enix, Bandai Namco, Sega and others have not yet confirmed whether they will participate in E3 2021. For reference, Sony has not participated in E3 since 2019.

Pierre Lewis, CEO of the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) hosting E3, said that E3 has been uniting the world through gaming for over 20 years, making it the premier venue the gaming industry has to offer, and will evolve E3 2021 into a more inclusive event.
