Apple Maps review function is also available in the US and Canada

It is said that the review functions such as restaurants and stores installed in the US Apple Maps app have been expanded to the US and Canada.

The review function was introduced through the iOS 14 release in the UK and Australia, but surprisingly, it did not respond in the US and Canada. This time, it is finally available in these countries.

If you refer to a specific location in the Maps app, this function allows you to know the evaluation of specific items such as the total number of evaluations, a high rate of evaluation, and a service or product. If the service provider country, the user can enter this information. However, review posts through sentences are not supported. According to Apple, the application links review posts based on device location records and photo library photo analysis. In addition, photo analysis is done on the device, and the name and rating of the reviewer are not disclosed to protect user privacy.

Currently, the Apple Maps app is affiliated with Tase services such as Yelp and Tripadvisor, and you can get photos and reviews. But if Apple builds its own review database, it won’t have to rely on these external services. The Apple Maps app is continuously improving its functions in iOS 14.5 by adding a function to report accidents, dangerous areas, and speeding enforcement. It is not yet known whether the competitor Google Maps will catch up and overtake it, but for the map data market to grow healthy, it may be much more advantageous for these two services to compete.
