SpaceX satellite internet service terminal exceeded 100,000 units

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk tweeted on August 24 (local time) that 100,000 Starlink handsets had been shipped.

Starlink is a satellite internet service provided by SpaceX. As a project started in 2015, CEO Elon Musk plans to launch 42,000 satellites into low orbit at an altitude of 560 km to provide internet service even in rugged mountainous areas or seas where internet is not available.

It has launched 1,500 satellites so far, and started a regional public beta test in 2020, and has now expanded it to 14 regions. CEO Elon Musk said there were 69,000 users as of June 2021, but he is aiming for 500,000 registrations this year.

The monthly fee is $99, and you need to purchase a dedicated facility for $499 to use it. Internet communication using low-orbit satellites is attracting attention from various companies thanks to its advantage of low delay due to its close distance to the ground.

Through the monthly AHC PC and HowPC magazine era, he has watched 'technology age' in online IT media such as ZDNet, electronic newspaper Internet manager, editor of Consumer Journal Ivers, TechHolic publisher, and editor of Venture Square. I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
