New World, an open world MMORPG developed by Amazon Game Studios, has finally been officially released on Steam after being delayed four times in a year and a half period.
The game is divided into two versions: a regular version and a deluxe edition. In addition to the game, the deluxe edition includes a digital art book and a set of bonus items. Once you’ve bought the software, just focus on playing, there are no additional fees and no monthly fees.
If you purchased the game in the US and signed up for Amazon Prime, you can get the Pirate Pack for free until November 1. This pack contains additional skins and $5 worth of in-game currency.
New World is inspired by the world of the 15th to 16th centuries, when the discovery of a new continent and colonization flourished, and gamers belong to one of three factions, choose their work in various roles, and contribute to the prosperity of the faction. It was originally scheduled to be released in 2020, but there were reports that it was initially postponed due to accusations that the element of killing people resembling Native Americans was racist, such as work to dilute this element.
The finally released New World could be an important test bed for Amazon. It has been almost 10 years since Amazon entered the game business, but there are no outstanding hits in the original work. Masterpieces such as Breakaway and Crucible were also canceled, and in April of this year, development of a Lord of the Rings-themed game was also suspended.
Currently, the number of simultaneous connections to New World Steam has reached more than 700,000, which is good. It can be said that the future of this game also depends on the Amazon game business. Related information can be found here.
