Facebook has already announced and started testing new audio-related features such as Live Audio Rooms and Soundbites in April 2021. In addition, the audio hub function, which allows you to view Facebook audio-related functions including podcasts, in one place, was added to the mobile app and started to be provided in the United States.
This feature is organized in the Watch tab in the app, available on iOS and Android apps for US users over the age of 18. Accordingly, we are also announcing the global expansion of the Live Audio Room, which was launched for American celebrities and Facebook groups in June 2021. All verified public figures and creators will be able to use it.
It’s also testing Soundbytes, short audio clips that tell jokes, anecdotes, or poems, but plans to distribute it to more US users in the coming weeks. Although it is focusing on audio content, Facebook is also working on technology to detect content that violates social regulations. It is also pointed out that Facebook is currently neglecting its profit-first constitution and false information due to whistleblowing. Even to avoid further suspicion, this effort may be the most important task for Facebook. Related information can be found here.
