Telegram announced changes in version 8.0, including removing the viewer cap on live features, adding custom features when sending messages, and improving the way you navigate to unread channels. With the ability to broadcast live to more users, Telegram seems to be approaching more social media networks than just a messaging app.
Telegram is known to be used by criminals who do not want to leave evidence of interaction because it encrypts incoming and outgoing messages to ensure privacy and also has a function to delete private chat messages or files after a certain period of time. Meanwhile, as pointed out that Telegram is becoming more like a full-fledged messaging app, the social media function has also been enhanced through recent updates.
Telegram released the latest update, version 8.0, on August 31, 2021, and reported several improvements and feature additions. First, abolish the limit on the number of live broadcast viewers. When broadcasting live on a channel that is a Telegram community, or when chatting on a group Mars, the maximum viewer limit was 1,000 until now, but in version 8.0, this limit is removed and becomes unlimited. In addition, in Telegram live broadcasting, it is becoming possible for a user assigned to an administrator to participate by voice.
Here are the options for sending messages. In version 8.0, an option was added when sending sent messages and images to other users. To send a message sent by another user, it is now possible to separate the message caption or hide the original name before sending.
Next, move the channel. When multiple channels are registered, the latest posts from one channel are read to the end, and unread posts from other channels are displayed on the screen. This will naturally move you to another channel. It helps to reduce time and increase efficiency by checking channel posts without going back to the chat list screen one by one.
Next is the sticker improvement. Telegram can use images called stickers like line stamps. At the top of the new sticker panel, you’ll see a panel called Trending Stickers, where you can see your favorite stickers.
Also, in the Android app, sticker thumbnails are enlarged, and when you are looking for a sticker, such as when typing or recording a voice message, choosing a sticker is displayed. This way, even if you don’t reply for a while, the other person will know they’re still looking for the right sticker.
Here is the notification of unread comments on the channel. Many channels allow members to annotate admin posts.
