When Google searches for a specific animal on mobile, it displays an AR feature that displays the animal as a 3D model and adds a real landscape.
For example, if you search for a tiger in a Google app, you’ll see a card (Meet a life-tiger up close). If you select View In 3D, the 3D model is displayed and you can see it at the desired angle. Here, if you select the display function in the surrounding space, you can see the actual scenery with the AR function.
However, this function is only available for AR-supported models such as ARCore (ARCore) for Android and ARKit (iPhone). The search term is also available in English only. You can see it by setting the search language to English in the Google app.
Of course, not all animals are ready. You can see tigers, penguins, sharks, goats, crocodiles. This feature was released during Google I / O 2019 in May. In the future, Google will also display other AR objects in cooperation with NASA, Samsung Electronics, and Volvo. For more information, please click here .
