E-mail Leak Alert H / W for M & A

HIBP (Have I Been Pwned?) Is a free service that allows you to investigate whether your e-mail address and password have been compromised when an incident occurred. It is used by businesses, governments and law enforcement agencies, but the actual operation is done by one person. However, as the size of the HIBP grows, so the work becomes vast and it can not get out of control.

Troy Hunt, an online security expert and Microsoft MVP who witnessed attacks on hackers and reveals consumer personal information on major Web sites and Web services, said data leakage would be a bigger problem in the future, and HIBP Web services were released.

The service will tell you if you have an e-mail address and an ID and whether it is leaked or not.

From 2013 to 2019, corporate information leaks were accelerated. The number of people who need HIBP is on the rise. In June of this year, 8 billion personal information was leaked and 30 million people receive HIBP alarm e-mails. The number of alarms actually sent is said to be 7 million times. There are 150,000 visitors a day, but if something happens, it will reach 10 million.

In addition, HIBP is investigating e-mail address spoofing, but has also announced a password-disclosure service (Pwned Passwords), which is also used by many users of mail. These services are becoming a global tool, not just for business purposes, but also for use by law enforcement agencies such as the UK and Australian governments. However, in reality, one hunt is composed, coded and updated daily record.

He needs to explain the architecture, he says, creating infographics, manually editing leaks, company logos, and even contacting companies that are not aware of additional data leaks. I did all of this in my spare time, but the work was so huge.

He says he started talking with organizations interested in acquiring HIBP this year. While talking about personal issues with a friend who works at KPMG, he recommended HIBP’s M & A. First of all, we needed a project name to show that HIBP’s M & A is clearly going on. He recalls the Svalbard Seed Vault, a giant facility that stores seeds all over the world. Located in Norway, the HIBP also has an enormous number of records. Hunt named the M & A project Svalbard and began to contact people interested in the project.

He says seven things you want to emphasize in the argument. The first is that consumers search should remain free. The next thing is that he must continue working on the HIBP even after the takeover. The next thing is that you can not do it yourself. From now on, we need to be able to reach more people. They also need to play a role in changing consumer behavior, be able to profit from the organization, and finally have to disclose more data.

There is, of course, a way for him to hire people and commercialize HIBP. In fact, he had the opportunity to start a company or run a venture capital fund while running the HIBP, but he did not go that way because his responsibility became too heavy. Now, considering the time and money invested in the company, the company has been removed from the option. For more information, please click here .

Through the monthly AHC PC and HowPC magazine era, he has watched 'technology age' in online IT media such as ZDNet, electronic newspaper Internet manager, editor of Consumer Journal Ivers, TechHolic publisher, and editor of Venture Square. I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
