Nintendo Switch sold 15 million units in North America

Sales of Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo’s home game consoles, have exceeded 15 million units since their launch in March 2017.

According to a survey by market research firm NPD Group, the switch system in the United States was the most sold game-only machine for 10 consecutive months. According to official Nintendo data, the number of units sold for September in North America increased by more than 20% this year. Nintendo of the U.S. has emphasized that over 15 million people in North America are playing games through the Switch, saying that in the high season at the end of the year, the Nintendo Switch will make various people laugh.

In addition, more than 1 million copies of 15 games have been sold in North America so far. Among them, Marioart 8 Deluxe, Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Daenantus Mash Brothers Special, and Super Mario Odyssey have exceeded 6 million.

Nintendo announced in early October that it had sold 10 million units in Europe. This is a sign that the switch, which has entered its third year of launch, is still in good shape. The advantage of the switch, which combines the characteristics of a stationary type and a portable game console, is being exhibited at any time and place.

However, the Switch may experience ups and downs depending on the replacement cycle of competing game consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PlayStation 5 will be released in 2020, and the next-generation Xbox, Scarlett, is also predicting a release in winter 2020. Related information can be found here .
