AI applies painting features to photos?

Through Google Arts & Culture, an art appreciation app, Google has added an Art Transfer function that attaches touches of famous artists such as Munch, Gogh, and Da Vinci to photos.

There are, of course, a number of photo filter processing apps. However, Art Transfer does not just overlay images. It is characterized by applying the artist’s characteristics to photos using AI. However, the AI does not imitate the artist’s brushstrokes, but rather the AI interprets the selected painting features and applies them to the photo as a filter.

It was taken for granted that AI work like this would be done through the cloud, but Art Transfer does not use the cloud and creates images on the device itself. In addition, it supports functions such as partially selecting a subject and applying a filter to it only or inverting the selected area. The created image can be downloaded and shared as a photo or GIF that changes before and after processing from the share menu. Related information can be found here .

I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
